

Age 94, Died peacefully at McKendree Village surrounded by her family on Friday, January 6, 2012. She was born in Linden, TN, the oldest child of the late Newt and Zula Treadwell, on August 16, 1917. Frances Zimmerman graduated from Perry County High School in 1937 and Dickinson Secretarial Institute in 1940. She was an employee of the Cain Sloan Company from 1956 to 1982. In addition, she served on the Davidson County Election Commission from 1960-2005 where she also became the assistant registrar. Mrs. Zimmerman was an active, dedicated member of Dalewood United Methodist Church for more than fifty years. She was also an avid Boy Scouts of America supporter and was a Boy Scout Den Mother for six years when her two sons were young. Preceded in death by her parents Newt and Zula Treadwell, two of her siblings, and her daughter-in-law Janice Zimmerman, she is survived by her husband of seventy years Roy Michael Zimmerman, Sr., her sons Roy Michael Zimmerman, Jr. and Dr. Carl Wayne Zimmerman, her sister Anne Cooper, her daughter-in-law Jeanne Zimmerman, seven grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, as well as many close friends. Visitation with family and friends will be on Thursday, January 12, 2012 from 2-5 p.m. and on Friday, January 13, 2012 from 10-11 a.m. at Hermitage Memorial Gardens and Funeral Home, 535 Shute Lane in Old Hickory. A Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, January 13, 2012 at the same location.
