

Alan had a big heart and personality that everyone loved. He was a great friend to everyone he met and was always there when you needed him.
He worked as a security guard at Paradise Park on Broadway. He enjoyed his work on Broadway and especially the people. In his free time he loved to watch sports, especially the Tennessee Volunteers and the Green Bay Packers. He kept a beautiful flower garden for his wife. The loves of his life were his wife Brenda and his dog Maggie.
He is survived by his loving wife of 27 years Brenda McWhirter; his mother-in-law Joyce Campbell, his brothers/sisters-in-law Sandra (John) Back, Randall (Rhonda) Campbell, Carla Clemons, and Melinda Campbell; nieces and nephews Bryan (Jacqueline) Back, Lindsey Zoeller, Tiffany (Kyle) Barfield, Tyler Campbell, Luke Campbell, Jordan Clemons, Jayden Clemons, Shawn Campbell, Sierra Greggs, Tammy Lee Masters, Dana Allred-Schumaker, and Casey Comolli; cousins Charlotte Thompson and Carolyn Troutt; extended family Deborah Woodard, Hillary Denton, Layla Denton, and many great nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Pauline McWhirter; father-in-law Rev. Eugene Campbell; sisters Brenda Woodard and Ann Flanagan; and his niece Emily Campbell.
Gathering of family and friends will be Saturday, February 15, 2025 from 10:00am-1:00pm at Hermitage Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens. The Celebration of Life will begin at 1:00pm in the Tulip Grove Room. Burial following at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
