

Mr. Knecht was born on August 22, 1933, in Analomink, Pennsylvania, to the late Theodore and Rena Lehr Knecht. He worked for South Central Bell as a Cable Repair Technician for several years. In 1959, He married the love of his life, Mrs. Ruby Hinton Knecht, and they would’ve celebrated 58 years together this January. He was a good Christian man and loved the Lord. He extended his hand to anyone in need and didn’t know a stranger. Mr. Knecht loved being outdoors regardless of the weather. He spent countless hours outside, and his family says that is where he spent most of his life. He was a hard worker, impeccable husband and father.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his furry companion, Misty Blue.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ruby H. Knecht; three sons, Scott Knecht and his wife, Cindy, Steven Knecht and Tad Knecht; one granddaughter, Kathe Legg and her husband, James, and his faithful four-legged best friend, Maggie Mae.
Visitation with the family will be on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at Hermitage Funeral Home from 1:00 pm until 4:00 pm.
Cryptside Services will immediately follow the visitation on Sunday, November 13, 2016 at Hermitage Memorial Gardens in the mausoleum at 4:00 pm with Pastor Tony Sparrow officiating.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, www.alz.org, in honor of Mr. Knecht.
