He was preceded in death by his loving wife, Carmen Adams Duke, his parents, William and Bessie Mae Duke and his brother, Grady Duke.
He is survived by his daughters, Lisa Costes and Alison (Alan) Witt; his grandchildren, Christina Willis, Steven Hardister, Jessica Ginn, Ashley Witt and Alex Witt; his great-grandchild, Aaron Platt; and his sister, Doris Lorton.
Gene served in the United States Air Force during the Korean War. He then worked with his Insurance Agency for over 45 years, and he was a friend to everyone he met. In his later years, he loved his volunteer work at the Churches of Christ Disaster Relief. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather and devoted Christian man who will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be Monday, November 21st from 4pm-8pm and Tuesday, November 22nd from 10am-11am with the funeral service to follow at 11am with Bro. JD Buckner officiating. A graveside service will be held 12:30 Wednesday, November 23rd at Memorial Park Cemetery in Memphis, TN with Bro. Ken Joines officiating.
