Glair G. Little, age 88, of Smyrna, TN, passed away on March 1, 2026, at the Arbors Memory Care Facility in Smyrna. He was born on October 16, 1937, in Winchester, KY, to A.W. and Evelyn Whetstone Little. He graduated from Breathitt County High School in Jackson, KY and then joined the United States Air Force and served from 1956 – 1960. He was stationed in Japan.
Glair moved to Nashville and had two daughters. He worked at Brockton Shoe Company in Nashville and then was a welder repair technician for a welding supply company before being self-employed in the welding repair business for several years. He retired in 2017.
Glair is survived by his wife of 45 years, Patricia Vreeland Little; daughters, Cheryl Little of Murphy, NC and Kimberly Lopez (Raul) of Murfreesboro, TN; grandsons Brandon Lopez (Fabiola) of White House, TN, and Ethan Lopez of Murfreesboro, TNe; and great-grandchildren Matias and Viktoria Lopez. Glair is also survived by his sister, Vonda Little of Johnson City, TN and brother, Paul Little of Jackson, KY.
Glair served in Free Methodist and Nazarene Churches for many years and then when moving to Smyrna delighted in serving at LifePoint Church greeting people that came through “his” door. Glair loved his Lord, had a great sense of humor and he will be greatly missed by family and friends.
There will be a time of visitation at Hermitage Funeral Home on Wednesday, March 3, from 5:00 PM – 8:00 PM, and on Thursday, March 4, from 10:00 AM – 12:00 PM. A Celebration of Glair’s Life will follow on Thursday in the Tulip Grove Chapel at the funeral home with Rev. Tim Huff, officiating. Raul Lopez, Brandon Lopez, Ethan Lopez, Roy Rice, and James Lorance will serve as pallbearers. Following the service, Glair will be laid to rest in the Garden of Peace at Hermitage Memorial Gardens
