

He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Margaret Whitely; daughters, Lori Mattox (Ken) and Liz Gammon (Larry); grandchildren, Kara Mattox, Kasey M. Anthony (Jeremy) and Lester Gammon; great-grandchild, Hunter Anthony.
Travis was a Veteran of the United States Marine Corps and a member of the Mt. Juliet Church of Christ. He previously attended the Old Hickory Church of Christ and Hermitage Church of Christ where he served as an elder for 27 years. He retired from the DuPont Plant in Old Hickory and also from American Airlines.
A funeral service will be 11:00 AM Monday, July 31, 2017, at the Hermitage Funeral Home with Bro. Gene Griffin, Bro. Greg Coles, Bro. Allan Tucker and Bro. Ben Davis officiating. Interment will follow in Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Serving as Active Pallbearers will be David Minton, Ben Coles, Bill Rotenberry, Aaron Tucker, Allen Whitely and Jason Whitely. Serving as Honorary Pallbearers will be George Purnell, George Hinson, Ralph Fox, J B Gammon, Ron Robinson and Dennis Chappell.
The family will receive friends Sunday, July 30, from 2:00-7:00 PM and Monday from 10:00-11:00 AM.
