

Howard was a graduate of Tullahoma High School. He served in the 82nd Army Airborne Division as a paratrooper. He completed his education at Tennessee Tech University, earning a B.S. degree in Mathematics, and Middle Tennessee State University, with an M.S.T. in Mathematics.
Contributing over thirty years in education, Howard's teaching career began at Middle Tennessee State University. He continued as a math teacher at Litton Middle, Goodpasture, Bass Middle, and McGavock High School. He coached wrestling, football, and track and field. He was a mentor to countless individuals. He tutored many students and worked answering questions at Homework Hotline for ten plus years.
Howard was a resident of Old Hickory for the past forty-four years. He was a member of Old Hickory Church of Christ. During those years, he taught many Bible classes for high school students to adults. He also engaged in numerous mission trips in the United States and internationally. He was a man of many talents and shared them freely with a quick wit and humor thrown in.
Howard was predeceased by his parents, Dexter and Lina Agnes (Watson) Trawick; mother-in-law, Ann Rollins; and brothers, Jerry Watson, David Watson; and sister, Judy Watson.
He is survived by his wife of 43 years, Debra Rollins Watson of Old Hickory; daughter, Lauren (Jason) Clark of Lebanon Junction, KY, and Leah (Calum) Johnson of Satellite Beach, FL; three grandsons, Isaiah Clark, Asher Clark, and Adric Johnson; siblings, Bobby (Martha) Watson of Rickman, TN, Barbara Powell of Stuart, FL, Jimmy (Eileen) Watson of Manchester, TN, Charlie (Maggie) Trawick of Englewood, FL, Christine (Scott) Taber of Springfield, and Lisa (Marco) Peralta of Lavergne, father-in-law, David Rollins; and numerous nieces and nephews.
There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends on Friday, July 23, 2021 from 4pm - 8pm at Hermitage Funeral Home and on Saturday, July 24, 2021 from 9:30am - 11am at Old Hickory Church of Christ, 1001 Hadley Avenue, Old Hickory, TN. A Celebration of Mr. Watson's life will begin at 11am. Interment will follow the Celebration of Life in the Garden of the Cross at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
