James Fred Allen

James Fred Allen, 85, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away on August 12, 2021. Mr. Allen was the pastor of the Nashville Bordeaux General Baptist Church for more than forty years. He never met a stranger and had an immense love for his family and his church.

Pastor Allen was preceded in death by his wife, Daphine Allen; son, David “Red” Allen; and brothers Johnny Allen, Glynn Allen, Joe Allen, and Roy Allen. He is survived by his son, William Allen; daughter, Barbara (Tad) Collins; grandchildren Angie (Danny) Sexton, Tammy (Brandon) Russell, Monika (Jeremiah) Wiser, Jeremy (Shayla) Allen, Mark (Catherine) Allen, Joshua Allen, Candice Collins, and Lindsey Collins; his sister, Maibelle (Cotton) Dyer; and his brother, Carl (Nancy) Allen. Pastor Allen also leaves behind nineteen great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren.

There will be a Gathering of Family and Friends on Sunday, August 15, 2021 at Hermitage Funeral Home from 2pm – 6pm and on Monday, August 16, 2021 from 1pm – 2pm. A Celebration of Life will follow at 2pm. Entombment will follow the Celebration of Life in the Rachel Mausoleum at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
