Jeanette F Bowman, 81 of Old Hickory, Tennessee, passed away Saturday March 8, 2024. Jeanette was born January 14, 1944, in Greenbrier, Tennessee to Thomas and Gurtice Hayes. She spent her childhood growing up in Detroit, Michigan and Shelbyville, Tennessee prior to moving to Nashville.
Jeanette enjoyed knitting, crocheting and watching her favorite programs on T.V. She absolutely loved Elvis and collecting his memorabilia. She was the parts manager at a local vending company, where she worked for 45 years. She had an uncanny ability to remember the part numbers for the many machines they serviced. Her associates would often ask where they could find a part for a machine, and she would not only recite the part number but where to find it in the warehouse. Jeanette will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend ,
Jeanette was preceded in death by her husband of 33 years, Claude Bowman, parents, Thomas and Gurtice Hayes, daughter, Tina Bowman and a grandson, Barry Bowman.
She is survived by her daughters Claudia Eddings and Lanay Williams, grandchildren Jasmine Bowman, Dustin Bowman, Tosha Higgins,Ryan Bowman and Michael Pirtle, sisters Charlene Martin, Maryanne Hill and Marie Oakley, aunts and uncles, Paul Smith, Mike Smith Jr. and Riby Riggs, nieces and nephews, Bill Bowman Jr., Bubba Bowman, Melissa Cash, Albert Smith.
A gathering of friends and family will be held Monday April 14, 2025, 12:00 - 2:00PM at the Hermitage Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, where a memorial service will be held at 2:00PM.
