Almost a year after Coach Skip left us, my kids are here at the Ford Ice Center playing hockey. They still wish he was here. They will never forget him.

Time heels much in life, but time has not lessened the impact Jeff had on my life, nor the impact of his loss. I look at the card from his service every single morning and still can't accept it to be true. I want this so badly to be another one of his practical jokes. Blessings to the family.

Coach Skip was my daughter's favorite hockey coach, she said so a number of times. He really made it fun for her, as she dipped her toe into the hockey pool. I wish I could have met him. I'm so sorry for all his friends, family and students; it's a great loss.

Our family will deeply miss Coach Skip's energy, enthusiasm and humor.  He coached our boys and they will miss his laugh, his smile, his cheers and words of encouragement. Our prayers to his family in coping with this tremendous loss... and prayers to the Nashville Hockey family whose lives he touched everyday.  I can't remember one single interaction with him where my family would not come away smiling!  It was a privilege to know him and even greater to be able to share a laugh with him.

He was my best friend, period. Met 25 years ago and although we didn't share the same blood he was my brother. Went through so much together and in those 25 years he never strayed from being the incredible individual everyone here has commented on. My life will not be the same without him. Although we didn't talk as often as we should have, I always knew he was there if I needed him. He will never, ever be forgotten. A piece of him will live in me forever. Thanks for making my life better my friend.

Skip was a great friend, and will be sorely missed.  I have played on the Icemen for four seasons now and always looked forward to playing hockey with Skip.  He always had good advice, a great attitude, a smile and something funny to make you laugh.  {My brother Jon & I played hockey with Skip, back in the day (~1990), when it was a lot harder to play hockey in Nashville.  We would rent out the ice at the old Municipal Auditorium.  It was so great to play hockey with Skip again when FIC opened.}

The Icemen will not be the same without the 'Skipper'.

I have played on the same hockey team at FIC with Skip for multiple seasons. His great sense of humor made him very popular in the locker room. He was a fierce and vocal competitor on the ice and his love of the game was obvious. He will be missed.

Coach Skip was such an amazing friend, coach and mentor to us and our son, Connor. He always had time to say hi, make a joke, laugh and smile. He was one of the kids. We are distraught that our friend is no longer here. We love you Coach Skip. You are greatly missed.

Our sons Carter & Colin Burnette-Vice loved coach "Skip". They told me after the news that he taught them so much. Prayers for the family we will miss you.

Coach Skip just coached my son through his last game at Ford Ice.  What a difference he made in my child's life this season and he was Jameson's favorite coach.  He mentored my son and he looked up to Coach Skip.  My child is heart broken that he is no longer with us.

Coach Skip was a shining light for my son, Davis. We are one of many families that are fortunate to have met him via FIC. Skip's enthusiasm was infectious. He was the first and last person my son wanted to spend time with during hockey and skating classes and Davis will never forget story time with Skip. God received a wonderful angel, his family and friends are in our thoughts and prayers.

Skip was the best coach that I have ever had and I wish him the best of times in heaven, but I loved him dearly.

Our son met Coach Skip this last hockey session that just ended.  Coach Skip was his favorite coach.  Jackson loved that Coach Skip made them laugh,worked them hard, but kept things interesting because he taught them things using things you wouldn't expect on the ice.  He is quite upset that his favorite coach is gone. As a parent watching from the stands, you could tell who the kids loved most, and who put more energy and enthusiasm into coaching, and it was definitely Skip. Thanks, Coach, for loving on our boy.  Our sincere condolences to the family.

We just met Coach Skip a few months ago through hockey at the Ford Ice Center. He was a great guy. My kids loved him. They were very upset to hear of his passing. His family and friends will be in our prayers.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to  Tom, Carol and Family.  We absolutely adored and loved Coach Skip.  He was my son's favorite Coach and enjoyed taking lessons with him.  Skip made hockey fun, even when he made you work hard.  We will miss him tremendously.

Little brother you will be deeply missed. You were always there to brighten our day, you were filled with love and compassion and you had a beautiful soul.You will always be in our hearts,mind,body and in spirit. We love you to the moon and back xoxoxoxo
