

On Saturday, December 27, 2014 Jerome Herbison left this world of pain and sorrow to be with his heavenly Father. He was one month short of his 89th birthday. He is survived by his wife of 71 years, Margaret, three sons, Jerry, John and Dan, and one daughter, Peggy. Other survivors include seven grandchildren, and six great-grandchildren. He was a B-17 pilot during WW II, owner of a Nashville auto repair shop for 17 years, president of the Independent Garage Owners’ Association Nashville chapter, Chief Instructor for Nashville Auto-Diesel College, and a member of the original faculty of McGavock High School. He has had a positive influence in the lives of thousands of students during a teaching career spanning several decades. He was an active member of the Church of Christ at several congregations in the Nashville and Mt. Juliet area for his entire life. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted at 2 p.m. Tuesday, December 30, 2014 in Hermitage Funeral Home Chapel with visitation from 11 a.m. until time of service. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Friends will serve as Pallbearers.
