

SIMMONS. Jewel Dean, age 80 of Hermitage, passed away Friday, June 29, 2012. Preceded by her husband, Jack Simmons; mother, Pauline Shelby and step-father, Joe Shelby. Survived by her daughters, Anita (Tim) McMahon and Sheila (Steve) Cunningham; grandsons, Shawn and Chris (Jennifer) McMahon; 5 great grandchildren. Mrs. Simmons worked for Metro Government at the Main Library, Mayor Richard Fulton’s office during his tenure and retired from the Davidson County Clerk’s Office. A Celebration of Life service will be conducted 10:00 a.m. Monday, July 2, 2012 in Hermitage Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Don Loftis officiating. Entombment will follow in Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Family members will serve as Active Pallbearers. Mayor Richard Fulton, Dr. Karl Van Devender & staff, and Dr. Dana Thompson & staff will serve as Honorary Pallbearers. Visitation with the family 1:00 – 3:00 and 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. Sunday and 9:00 - 10:00 a.m. Monday. A special thank you to all her friends, caregivers and especially Delores Hoover and Alive Hospice.
