John was 84 years of age. He was preceded in death by wife, Nancy (Whidby) Ethridge; mother, Louise Rowland Ethridge; father, Leonard C. Ethridge; brother, Leonard C. Ethridge, Jr.; sister, Jane (Ethridge) Smithson; son-in-law, Michael A. Cordine; grandson, Jonathan M. Cordine (Shartique Crump), great grandson, Michael K. Crump-Cordine; granddaughter, and Hannah R. Cordine. John is also survived by a brother-in-law, several sisters-in-law, and numerous nieces and nephews.
John worked production for around thirty years at Sunbeam Bakery. Combined with Nancy's family, he was part of a very large loving family and he loved them all. His wife, Nancy, and his daughter, Connie, were his whole world. He was loved by many and will be dearly missed.
There will be a Memorial Service held at Whitley Memorial Baptist Church in Woodbine (84 Peachtree Street, Nashville, TN 37210) on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at 11:00 AM. Please do not send flowers to the church because there will be no one there to receive them.
