June 24, 1939 – August 1, 2025
LeRoy William Huffman, 86, of Nashville, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on August 1, 2025, in Donelson TN. Born on June 24, 1939, in Nashville to the late Roy and Almyra Huffman, Punch was a true Tennessean, known for his grit, generosity, and devotion to family.
Punch’s life was marked by hard work and determination. After briefly dropping out of high school to pursue his passion as a mechanic, he returned at his father’s insistence, a decision that shaped his resilient spirit. He went on to become a master mechanic, owning and operating Donelson Auto Clinic for over 40 years. With a gift for fixing anything, Punch’s shop was a cornerstone of the community, where his skill and warm handshake earned him lifelong friends. A proud veteran, he served as an NCO First Lieutenant in the National Guard for 11 years, embodying duty and leadership.
Punch’s heart belonged to his family and his beloved wife of over half a century, Janet Lucia Huffman, who preceded him in death. Together, they built a legacy of love, laughter, and weekend cookouts that brought their family together over hamburgers and stories. An avid golfer, Punch spent countless hours on the fairways, often with a grin and a quip. He also cherished fishing trips and cheering for his beloved Washington Redskins, but nothing brought him more joy than time with his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
Punch is survived by his children: son Michael LeRoy Huffman and wife Stacy Huffman, his daughter Jill Loraine Butler and husband Tim Butler, and son Martin William Huffman and wife Patti Bandy Huffman. Grandchildren, Hailey and Jeremiah, Keene, Ryan and Kiko Hudnall, Austin, Allyson and Andrew Huffman, Zack and Nicole Butler, Kirbi and Jacob Wrye, Julia Butler, and Jenna Butler, Will and Sydney Bedenbaugh and Will and Brittany Schroeder. and great-grandchildren, Ruby, Lily and Hank Keene, Ryat James Monotoney, Liam and Maya Hudnall, Neyland, Addie, Josie, Stella Butler, Raine and Murphey Wrye, Layla Green, Colt and Lawson Bedenbaugh.
He is survived by his sisters, Judy Harte, Kathleen Geer, Susan Richardson, MaryBeth Scott, and his brother Don Huffman.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Janet Lucia Huffman, sisters, Myra Leigh Huffman and Monica “Nicky” Huffman, and parents, Roy and Almyra Huffman.
