Dad, how can it be 12 years without you?!? Some days it feels like 20 years and some days feels like a few months. Time just keeps on moving but there isn’t a day you are not thought of. Dad how can it be eleven years?!? You are still missed as much today as you were this day eleven years ago. I do believe you’re in a much better place because the things this world has seen in 11 short years is beyond belief. I wish you could see Katelyn. She’s growing up Dad. Thinking of you today Dad, a day after the 9-year anniversary of your passing. It is very hard to believe that you've been gone this long now. Hi Dad:

I'm writing tonight from Santiago, Chile and have you on my mind with tomorrow being your birthday. It is so hard to believe that it has been 6 1/2 years since your passing, and tomorrow would have been your 85th birthday. Things are good here in that I'm on the backside of my graduate studies, and is why I'm in South America as I write this evening. I am currently pursuing my Masters in Business Administration at The University of Tennessee, and fulfilling a life-long dream to go to UT. Luke and Wyatt are growing, and mom is doing really well generally speaking. As you probably know, Aunt Jimmie has joined you in heaven as of this week and I'm sure it has been hard on mom as she has mourned her passing. I'll be on a plane tomorrow to Buenos Aires, Argentina as we wrap up our last few days before returning on August 10th. So, I wanted to write you in advance of your special day to let you know that you're on my mind.  I carry your spirit with me daily as I try to tackle the challenges of life in this world. I love you and will especially be thinking of you on your birthday. I wish you were here to celebrate it with me.

As Father’s Day approaches, I’m thinking of you Dad.  It is still sometimes hard to believe you’re not here, but you are never far from my consciousness. I think of you often when trying to raise your grandsons in the image that you and mom raised us. I know you’re looking down from heaven and enjoying watching your grandsons grow up.  I am soon to attempt my second try at a marriage. I have found a woman with mother's very own hospitable nature, and loves me more than I could ever know. She gets along great with mom, and provides her a level of friendship she has not had since she worked.

We continue to prepare to sell the only house I have ever called home. Many memories I am not sure I am ready to let go, yet with a new beginning I can learn to move on and grow beyond myself. I thought it would be harder on mom, but she is ready to be taken care of, instead of being the caretaker. You will be happy to know that you are still providing for your family. We will be able to afford a much nicer home because of your hard work and life's work.

Hello Dad. My life has been through some difficult times predominately because of my self, but things are starting to look up. Mayra, and myself are soon to take our relationship to matrimony (hopefully). I have finally landed a good job with a chiropractor who pays me cash under the table. I have over $52,000 in my IRA. My life has carved out it's own design due to it's poor decisions, but I have the greatest family in the world. They have stood by me and supported me through all of shenanigans. Just know I am content with my life despite it's turbulence. I am proud of you and the family you provided. I have been missing the gym lately, and then I thought of you. How you went with me 4 days a week. You strove to spend time with your son at his most difficult time in life. You spent the last years of life restoring life to your son. Thank you Dad. I love you.

You have been on my mind a lot lately. I am sitting here watching this tribute from 2004 to George Jones and I can picture you sitting in your chair in the living room watching this and thoroughly enjoying it. They have some of country music finest on her singing his songs and he is singing too. It brings tears to my eyes. I miss you so much Dad!!! I can't believe that we are coming up on 5 years!! This just doesn't seem right. I am so thankful that Jason kept this site open because I can feel so close to you when I am writing and it means so much. So much has happened in the 4 and 1/2 years that you have been gone. This world is crazy. Things are happening that either have never happened or has been decades. It's scary!!! Your bra babies are growing like weeds!!!! Katelyn still misses her papa like crazy. We have this little saying every time we see a butterfly she says there is papa and Harley :) She is in 3rd grade!!!!! That is so hard to believe. Mom is doing good. She has finally recovered from everything from last year and I just pray that she has a good winter and her arthritis stays at bay. I got a new job that I started 2 weeks ago. I am know at the original St. Thomas Hospital where you had your stents among time ago. I think of you often being there and I remember those days very vividly. I am doing research now and it is mainly in reference to heart valves, stents, mess, pacemakers, etc.... I have always had a passion for cardiac. It has always held a special place in my heart. I think I am really going to love this job and I am so blessed to have this opportunity to work in this field considering I have no experience. Shane, katelyn, and myself have found a church that we joined in January (I believe) and we are there every Sunday. We absolutely love it there. There are so many times I am sitting there and can feel your spirit in the room and of course on those days I just cry!!! I am blessed to have found this church. I know this is where me and my family are suppose to be. I so wish you could have been around to have met Shane. He is wonderful dad!! He sure does take care of your little girl and your granddaughter. He is so caring and has the most patience. You know us "Tomlinson's" don't have the most patience :)  I just wanted to sit down and take the time to write you because it has been some time. They are now playing "he stopped loving her today" George Jones best song ever!!!! Well dad I have enjoyed sitting here writing you with George playing in the background and tears just a flowing down my cheeks. I miss you like crazy and as I get older and older family is so important. I would give anything to have some more time with you during the days when you felt so good!! Of course that's life, sometimes you have to grow and mature before you realize things. Well I could keep writing and writing dad but I'm going to stop for know. I love and miss you so much!! Dad, I know I am past due writing you. I have been busy. Work is going well, and so is my relationship with Mayra. As Jason has already told you the Patriots won their 5th Super Bowl. One more and I will be satisfied, not that I'm not now, but I want us to be the best NFL team ever. I feel we at least need the same amount of titles as the Steelers. We had to score 25 points in Super Bowl 51 or 52. I can't remember which it was. I am happy because they won, but that is small in comparison to the events taking place in my life. I am still working to become someone you would be proud to call son. I will try to write more often to keep you informed about how I am doing. Jessica is married now, and her husband, Shane, is a great guy. I know you would be elated for Jessica. Jason, in my eyes, is still a model brother, and does his best for me and mom. Speaking of mom, she has been struggling with a knee replacement, carpal tunnel Syndrome in both arms, and terrible arthritis.We all to what we can to comfort and aid her in whatever she needs. We hope to have her as long as she can grace us with her presence.

Thinking of you Dad on the eve of the four year anniversary of your passing. I think of you often, for I have pictures of you up in the house, and will often stop and gaze and reflect back on times gone by. I find myself talking to Luke about his Papa and how you're now in Heaven, and that's a pretty good place to be after your done with matters here. He'll usually say that he misses you, and he loves his Papa. Your name also comes up whenever the Dallas Cowboys are on TV, and I explain to Luke that the Team with the Star on its helmet is Uncle Dale and Papa's Team. He usually will take sides with a Team that his family aligns with. He'll even do that with those darn Patriots knowing that they're Uncle Joe's Team. By the way, they just won another Super Bowl, but I'll let Joe tell you all about it. I want to get up to your gravesite soon, and now that Spring is approaching perhaps that'll happen soon. I miss having you around Dad. I love you and celebrate your memory this week.

Allen I have'nt wrote on you page and some time I have had a lot going on. I had totol knee replacement. It has been rought, but getting better. Well dad today would have marked your 82nd birthday!!! I went through so many old photos today and was reminiscing. I sure do miss you dad. Katelyn sure does miss you also! Happy Fathers Day, Dad!!! We are all thinking of you especially on this day designed for "Dad's". I miss you so much dad. I wish you could see how big Katelyn has got. She is almost 7 going on 17. Whew.... I'm already scared of teenage years. Mom has been struggling for over a month now with a fractured femur and has to have a total knee replacement next week. Joe is doing good and really Working his business and trying to promote it. Jason is doing good with those cute little boys. Man I wish you could see that Wyatt!!!! What a doll!!! He has definitely inherited some "Tomlinson" genes. In 4 months I will be getting married!!! Oh how I wish you would be here for this very special day but I know your with me each and every day and you will be with me on my special day too!!! I wish you could have met Shane. He truly is one of a kind. He loves Katelyn so much and likes to spoil her I do believe. I'm truly blessed to have him in my life. I would give anything to have you with me on my special day in October!!! I love you so much Dad!!!! Katelyn still speaks of you several times a week. She loves and misses you too!!! We lost Harley back in March and it was such a sad sad day!!!! We miss him too!! You boys are reunited. I can't wait to be reunited with you both again one day!!! Well dad it has almost been exactly 3 years that I picked that phone up from the nurse at Hospice. I just knew the phone would ring that night. Mom was already in bed. I answered it on the 1st ring. It was 11:58 PM. You had left this world to spend eternity with the one and only amazing God!! I know your with us daily dad and I know your in such a better place. You are healthy, pain free, can see, hear, and all the wonderful things that God thought about when he created us. I love you so much Dad. Always and forever. Mom is doing good. She's tired a lot but she can't be the energizer bunny forever. Ha ha You have a beautiful new grandson who looks so much like a Tomlinson. I am so very thankful that we have this site to come and leave our hearts and talk to you dad!! Thank you so much Jason for keeping it up and going. Dad 3 years sometimes feels like 20 and I would give anything to see you, hear your voice, give you a hug or a kiss on the cheek one more time. Sitting here thinking of you Dad just a few hours before the 3 year anniversary of your passing. Not a day goes by I don't think of you. You'd adore your new grandson, Wyatt. He's going to resemble us I think. I would have loved nothing more than for you to have met him. We moved into a new house in late August, and Erin and I absolutely love it. We're blessed, and are truly excited to make it the home we raise our boys in.  That too, I wish you could have seen, for I think you would have liked it very much. I would have loved just a few Thanksgiving celebrations with you there to celebrate with us. 

Work is seems to be going well for me, and I'm truly grateful for that. Erin got a new job in December, and it seems like a great fit for her. We're both just in the parenting vortex right now, and its a little crazy. I now have the utmost respect, and just general realization and understanding of exactly what you and mom sacrificed for so many years raising children. Life is funny like that. You really don't have a clue until you're living it. What's crazy is, its all worth it. 

I love you Dad. I carry your spirit with me everyday. Here's to remembering your life and legacy on this day.

I was just checking in to say I love you very much. We have had an eventful past couple weeks and I hope you are jumping up and down in heaven. First, I got engaged on Thanksgiving and I was totally shocked!!! I know you would be so happy and proud. He is a wonderful man that I know will always be there for me through thick or thin and will always support me and Katelyn in life!!! I wish you could be here on earth to have met him. He even met with mom to get her approval since you are in Heaven :)
It was so sweet!!! Secondly, Joey has a wonderful lady in his life that I think you would be very happy with. She is super sweet and cares for Joey a lot. Joe does have a lot of your stubborn ways though so he needs to snap out of that HaHa. Her name is Myra (I know I misspelled that).She is wonderful for Joey and I just hope he knows how great she is and how lucky they are to have found each other. Lastly, Erin and Jason had their second baby (second grand baby) Wyatt Robert Tomlinson and he was born on December 1st and he looks so much like you and Jason!! Dark hair and dark eyes. He is so so cute!! Katelyn is growing up way to fast also. You wouldn't even know her. Some days she is to big for her britches (as you would have said). Mom is doing good and we all miss you every day!!! Next weekend we will be at the cemetery for the lighting of the candles. Hard to believe we are coming up on 3 years. I must say it seems like 10!! Happy Birthday Dad! Tomorrow you would have been 82. Its hard to believe that you've been gone from us for 2.5 years now. This will be your third birthday that's passed since you left us that cold February night. My thoughts turn to you often these days, as I find myself sounding a whole lot like you. There's probably a correlation to raising hard-headed sons. You would just love Luke. His personality is really taking off in the past few months. His first soccer practice is Thursday night, and I'm certain he'll love it. I think his favorite thing to do is run, and chase or be chased. Soccer seems like a perfect fit for him. Erin is doing well, and is due in December with your 2nd grandson, Wyatt. We're starting to get excited, for that will be here before you know it. I have a feeling life is about to get really busy. Joe is back in school and hanging in there. I have not seen him much since he has started as it is keeping him busy. Mom is still go go go. She never slows down. Well earlier this month Shane and I returned from taking the girls to Disney!! Wow!! What an awesome 1st time experience. I am so thankful that I was able to take Katelyn with the help of Shane. I wish you could have met Shane. You would have totally approved Dad. He is a wonderful guy and loves Katelyn too. He is always including her and wanting to do things for her which is wonderful. I've started again at ITT, and it is much more difficult than Anthem. I'm glad mom is keeping you posted on my status, and there is no need to worry dad. I'm going to make you proud. Just wanted to pay a visit to your guest book today and write a few words in your memory. Joe started software engineering school today. Once he's finished, he'll have a two year degree in one of the higher demand fields out there. He's still keeping his massage therapy skills sharp, and his certifications updated. You would be proud of Joe. He never quits....just like his Mom and Dad. 

Erin and I are expecting again. We're having another boy in December. Of course, its during times like these that I desperately wish you were here to share these moments of joy. You'd be so tickled with Luke. He's growing up so fast, is never at a loss for words, and is full of spit and vinegar. He's like 'a worm in hot ashes,' as you used to say. I use that expression from time to time to describe him, and every time I think about you. Regardless, he's due December 7th and Erin and I think we'll name him Wyatt Robert. As you know, Robert is his Erin's Father's name, but was also your brother and father's name as well. 

Erin and I are looking at houses as well. We looked at one last week, and made an offer, only to have it trumped by an all-cash offer. The market is crazy here, and I guess that's a good thing for home owners. We were disappointed, but life goes on, and we're off looking for the next one. We want to find something that gives us enough space for the unexpected. I wish you were here to discuss these matters, for you always gave good conservative financial advice. Another one of the many things I miss talking with you about. 

Lastly, Mom, Joe and I visited your grave site on Saturday. You have such a lovely spot there at Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Mom and I always talk about the decision to move you to the top of the hill under the tree. You have a lovely view of the entire cemetery from  your spot there, and its shaded for much of the afternoon. I enjoy visiting there often. 

Well, I guess I've rambled for far too long. I just wanted to jump on here and say a few words in your honor. With Father's Day approaching, you've been on my mind a lot, and I just felt like pretending to have a conversation with the best Dad ever.

We're all thinking of you today, Dad. I can't believe it has been two years since your passing. In some ways, it does feel that long. In other ways, it seems longer since we shared a conversation, or seen that wry smile of yours. Being a Dad now myself, my thoughts constantly turn to you in certain situations. There are many times where I wish so badly that you could be here to see your grandson grow up. He is growing up so fast, and it is impossible not to see Joe and myself in his ways. He's into the puzzle phase of his development, and I remember how you would play puzzles for hours with Katelyn when she was about his age. After all, it was about his age now when we lost you that February evening. I often take opportunities to show him pictures of his Pa Pa, and explain to him that he was his Daddy's Daddy. It's so cute to here him say "Pa Pa?" All of this wouldn't seem so tragic, if you weren't so terribly missed. I guess it is impossible to not miss those that are truly special and important in our collective lives. You define Fatherhood to me Dad, and I'm trying to make you proud every day. What gives me special solace during days like today is that I know you're able to witness all of this from your position now. 

From this day forward, we will hold February 9th in special remembrance of the full life you lived, and the other lives you nurtured and impacted along the way. We miss you Daddy.

Dad you have been on my mind for the past several weeks more so than usual. This time of year is always so hard and emotional. I cannot help to replay this time over in my head as to when it all began at home. On a positive note, I know you are so much more comfortable and at ease. I am so thankful for that!! Your little granddaughter, Katelyn, misses you like crazy too. She asks about you every single day to this day. You sure knew how to make us "girls" daddy/papa girls. :) Haha

My thoughts turn to you this time of year as we approach Super Bowl Sunday, and the anniversary of your fall and eventual passing. There are times where it seems like we shared conversation just moments ago, and there are times where that time seems distant. One thing is for sure, I miss you today as much as I missed you the day after you passed. 

I remember you being in the hospital during the Super Bowl in 2013. It was Ravens v. 49ers, and you didn't care for either Team. I don't recall watching the game that year, but I think I remember you telling me that you had it on in your room while you rested. You always was a football fan, and that's certainly something you passed down to both your sons. This year, it's Joe's Patriots vs. Seahawks. There's little doubt that you'll be paying attention from your perch on high. There won't be a quarter that passes where we all won't be thinking of you, Dad. 

I'll jump back on here in a week or so as we approach the 2 year anniversary of your passing. We miss you Dad.

Just got up thinking about you today Dad, and wanted to say so in your guest book. I recently paid to keep this open, so that others can do the same for as long as we like. Spring is here, and perhaps this is why my thoughts turn to you this time of year. I can't help but think of Barton's Creek boat dock this time of year, and specifically that last time Joe and I went fishing with you. I remember noticing how difficult it was for you to get the boat up on the trailer hitch, and thought that might be the last time we all did that together. Unfortunately, that turned out to be the case. Once it gets a little warmer, I'm taking your old tackle box back to Barton's Creek with my kayak and want to retrace some of those spots we used to fish. You never know, I might just pull one in for old times sake.

One year ago today, we laid you to rest Dad. It was a beautiful day as I remember it, especially for February. It was close to 60 degrees, a bright blue sky, very little wind. Good fishing weather, and I bet you a nickel the crappie were biting that day. The USAF Airmen were there to perform the honor of your military burial. They played T.A.P.S. and presented the U.S. Flag to Mom. It was truly beautiful, and my first time witnessing a military burial. 

I just wanted to take a moment to acknowledge today as a special day, one in which will always carry with it for me a different meaning than most have of this holiday. Thinking of you today, and everyday Dad.

Well dad it is the national day of love!!!! I wanted you to know how much I love you daddy!!!! We all miss you so very much and there isn't a day or even a few hours that goes by that your not on my mind and heart!!! Katelyn and I baked valentine cookies for her class last night!!! And she still says everyday, at least 5 times a day, that she misses you ?? I know she does as we all do!! I'm so thankful that you left your sweet nurturing love in her heart dad!!! Well Dad... I think you would of been happy today if you were here on earth!!! Mom cooked, as always, and your favorite meal (fried chicken and gravy). We went to visit your site today and you have one of the best spots there. Mom has done a wonderful job with your beautiful flowers. It is so hard to believe that a year has already come and gone. I remember this night oh so very well dad. It was 11:59 but the one good thing about 11:59 pm tonight I know you are not suffering and hurting! So me knowing that mends all the heartache and missing of you. I am so happy and blessed to have had you as my father for the 32 years! I love you so much and have so many memorable moments of you, me, and family. Thank you for showing me, what a real dad is all about!!! I love you dad and miss you so much!!! Not a day goes by your not on my mind and in my heart!! Katelyn still speaks of you so often.. And more so these past several days... It's like she knows too!! (Being a year). Tomorrow we have plans to visit your grave site in remembrance of the man you were dad. It is amazing how fast time gets away. I debated whether or not I would even write, considering I have little to write about. I am continuing to attempt to make something out of myself in hopes of becoming a man you would be proud of fathering. 
Mom Is preparing to retire, and money is tight as usual. I am providing as much as needed from what I draw, but I am unemployed and have been since shortly after your demise. I have started school once again in hopes of obtaining a more lucrative position taking X rays.
Being that it has been a year since you left us, I wanted to touch base with your Quest Book, if nothing else, to keep a recording of our family's progress in coping with such a tremendous loss, which being yourself of course.

It doesn't seem possible that it has almost been a year since your passing Dad. Sunday will be the one year mark, and I'm just amazed at how it seems like yesterday that we were fighting to keep you here. 

I think you would be proud with how the family has held together since. Joe is doing great things in school, and will graduate later this year. Jessica and Mom are getting Katelyn ready for Kindergarten in the Fall. She is growing up, and I know you miss her especially. I can assure you the feeling is mutual. Mom tells me that you come up in her conversations often. Mom is hanging tough, and has officially made plans to retire in April. I think its the right decision, and I'm truly excited for her. I know you would agree that it is time for her to slow down. Erin is doing well and is well established in her new job. I can't help remember going thru her losing her job at the same time last year that we were losing you. It was a crazy time. 

Of course, things will never be the same without you around, but I cherish all the memories I have of us as a family. It is these memories that have helped me get through the last 12 months. It is these memories that will help shape me into the father I aspire to be for Luke. As Sunday approaches I just wanted you to know that I was thinking of you. Thinking of your impact on me. Thinking of all of our personal interactions to the best of my cognitive ability. All just so I can experience 'you' once more. 

As I wrap up my thoughts here, I also wanted you to know that I just finished an amazing picture book of you. I had a dear friend gift me a 4x6 picture book. It's engraved and says 'Memories of my Father', and then it has 'Tomlinson' engraved at the bottom of the chrome-plated cover frame. I bet it holds no less than 150 photos of you. I just completed it today, and I know you would be proud of it.

Well Dad...Christmas has come and gone, and although it was a lovely holiday season, it just wasn't the same without you here with us. I know you would have gotten a kick at watching Katelyn and Luke chase each other around yesterday during our family's Christmas celebration. They are both growing up, and you can tell there's a closeness there, that you would have been proud to see. You weren't far from our thoughts, and you won't be far from them as we approach this new year of possibilities. I plan on posting a few more random thoughts before they close our site down here in March. I would wish you a Happy New Year, but there are no more years where your spirit roams today. I love you Dad.

Merry Christmas Daddy!!! I remember this time last year very vividly!!! It's a very hard time of year for us all I know!! I miss you so much dad!!! And that sweet little granddaughter of yours is always asking about you! She knows your in heaven but says she misses you about 5 times a day everyday!!! Today is Christmas Eve, and it will be my first one spent without you Dad. There are things that transpire in life that once they come and go, life for those left is never the same. Having a child is certainly one of these life events. Losing a parent is certainly another. This Christmas season, I am choosing to lift up your name in spirit, instead of focusing on your loss Dad. You were a great family man, and there is no better time to reflect back at the amazing job you did as a father than during the Christmas season. I'll always cherish those early Christmas mornings where Joe, Jessica and I would drag you and mom out of bed to help us participate in the tearing open of gifts. No matter how hard times were for you and Mom, one would never have known it on Christmas morning in our home. I love and will forever miss you Dad. Thanks for making my Christmas memories as a child so memorable. I will forever cherish them. Merry Christmas Daddy.

Dad, It's Christmas Eve, and I'm guessing this book will only be open for another couple of months. This will be the first Christmas without you, and I've already found myself shedding more than a few tears. You're missed very much Dad, and although you may have felt like you couldn't do much anymore, you were still the best father I ever could have had. I love you Dad, and if this is the last entry I have in this book, let it end with that...I Love You!

Dad today is Thanksgiving and I am working but hey that's okay. I have really been dreading the holiday season approaching without you here. I think of you everyday and there still isn't a day that goes by that katelyn does not mention your name either. We both love and miss you everyday! I can not believe that almost a year has come. Seems so real yet unreal all at the same time. We got our first snow before Thanksgiving this year. Me and mom were talking just the other day how you would be bundled up in your chair looking out the window with katelyn right there next to you.. Looking for the squirrels :) well your nice and warm and pain free this holiday season and even though it is hard I am thankful for that dad! I am also thankful for having you 32 solid years as my dad!!! I wouldn't trade it for nothing is this world. I was your "little girl" and still am.. I love you so much dad... We love you!! It is Thanksgiving again Dad. It is not the same around the home, but then I don't know how I ever could have thought it would be. On a brighter note, your Cowboys are looking pretty good right now. I wouldn't say the best I've ever seen them, but they are definitely heading in the right direction.
You are loved and missed very much Dad. Katelyn is so big now, and she is into everything. Jessica is, well, you know Jessica; she is the same. I'm kind of worried about mother. She pushes herself to far sometimes. I don't know what I would do without her Dad. Although you are sincerely missed, I do feel reason to be extremely thankful for the many blessings I have received this year.

Thanksgiving is tomorrow, and I can't help but think about how this will be our first one without you Dad. I enjoyed 36 Thanksgivings with you, but the holiday will forever be different without you here. As we pause to give thanks this season, I'm forever grateful for having you as my father. I realize more everyday just how tremendous of a Dad you were to all of us. Perhaps that's partially because you're no longer here. Perhaps its because I'm a Dad now, and clearly understand the sacrifice, and dedication it takes to truly be a good father. Thank you Dad. Thank you for shaping me into the man I am today. I will forever love, respect, and cherish your memory.

As I sit here and November approaches, I realize its been almost 9 months since your passing, Dad. Luke is getting so big, and I find myself desperately wanting you to have known him at this age. Happy birthday dad.
I try to hold the fort down, but unfortunately my past mistakes seem to have me at a slight disadvantage. The Cowboys and Dolphins played the Hall of Fame game last night. The Cowboys won 24-20. Maybe they will win the Super Bowl this year in your honor? 
You're missed very much dad, but life goes on. Jessica is involved with a nice young man, and we're keeping our fingers crossed. Jason and Erin are doing well, and it is a real pity you could not have seen Luke at Katyln's 4th birthday party. They have both grown tremendously. Mom still does more than she needs too, but maybe that's why I'm here? To keep her some company. Don't get me wrong dad, I haven't given up on my own life. I've got just over 20,000 dollars saved in an IRA, and I'm back in school to hopefully learn a beneficial trade. 
I still think of catching crappie with you. I fondly remember you coming up to Virginia to see me when I was in the service. You would have been 79 today dad. Still a very young man. I know had you known what you were doing to yourself all of those years by smoking, you may have chosen to live another life. I want you to know, don't feel like you've let us down. We love you dad!! Happy Birthday Allen. Your received an early birthday present last night when the Cowboys won. Normally we would have talked over the phone this past weekend and without any doubt the Dallas Cowboys would have taken up a sizable portion of that conversation. I miss you Allen and thought about you this past weekend and today. Rest in Peace

Happy Birthday Dad. You would have been 79 today. I hope they are celebrating your life there in Heaven, just as we will be in our hearts here on Earth. Happy belated Fathers Day dad. I wrote a long entry in this thing yesterday and I guess I didn't submit it. So I'm sorry it is late. I went with Jason to visit you yesterday. It was a beautiful day, and he reflected on the past few days before you passed. I, of course was absent. Much like the recent photograph he posted on Facebook at his wedding in which I was also absent. Thank you dad for never being absent when I needed you. Thank you for believing, encouraging, and assisting in my miraculous recovery. I know you could have been doing a million other things, but you made my well being your priority. I have some difficulty controlling emotions. They are intense, but sporadic at best. Yesterday morning I wept for you a little, but today I was fumigating when I discovered my post did not get registered in this guest book. I've speculated where I got these emotions from, and I believe I might have gotten them from you : ) That kind of makes me crack a smile. At least I will be carrying a part of you with me. Even if it isn't typically a desirable one. Father, thank you for providing for me. As I close this message I am thankful for you having found Christ. I know you are in a much better place now. You can see, and run. I don't know if you allowed to watch over us, but then again I suppose you always have. I will see you again dad. I will do my best to make you proud. I love you.

Happy Fathers Day to the worlds best dad any girl could ask for!! I love you so much Dad and miss you dearly!! I am so happy that you actually have a life now that is by far better than life in this world however, I still miss you so much and sweet Katelyn does too! There is not a day that goes by that she doesn't say, "I miss papa"! I know you miss us all deeply too. I wish I could see you, give you a big hug and kiss, and tell you how much I love you and how thankful I am to have you as my chosen daddy!!! Happy Father's Day Dad. Today will mark the first Father's Day without you here, and my 2nd as a Dad. Had I known last year would be the only chance I got at sharing the moment with you, I would have cherished it much more. Regardless, I carry those 36 years of your presence in my life with me on a daily basis. You did good work, and your best work came in your role as a loving Father. I am who I am today because of your love, and character. Happy Father's Day Daddy.

As Father's Day approaches my heart grows heavy for our family's great loss. As a father now, I now truly appreciate the sacrifice you made for me growing up Dad. You were such a great father, role model and mentor. I miss those early days especially. Those times when we would watch NFL football on Sundays after church. I'll never forget that one Iron Bowl that we watched that Saturday afternoon, or some of those UT football games back when Johnny Majors was the head coach. I'll never forget the smell of those fried hot dogs you used to love so much, nor that look on your face when you came home from work only to hear me confess to wrecking Mike Campbell's truck. Those were the good ole days as they say. I miss you Dad, and it only grows more profound it seems as the time moves on. Regardless, I'm confident we'll meet again someday. I love you Dad.

Missing you today Dad. I'm finding that some days I can't seem to get you off of my mind. I wish I could have one final conversation with you. Events like the NFL Draft, and George Jones' recent passing certainly make me think of you. You adored George Jones, and whether you would admit it or not, you loved football. There are so many things that I value today because of you. I miss you dearly. I love you.

I miss you everyday dad!!! I go "see" you often!! I was just there on Friday and its so so peaceful!!! We all love and miss you deeply, even though I know you are so much happier and completely healthy!!! Love you dearly!!
