Marilyn Kincaid of Mt. Juliet, TN, passed away peacefully on Friday, November 1, 2024, after a lengthy battle with cancer. Marilyn was born in Lewisburg, TN, on November 17, 1947, to Wayne and Marbel Davidson. She attended Marshall County High School, graduating in 1966.
Marilyn was a kind and selfless person who loved children and animals, taking in many of both during her life. In recent years, her cat Ellie May was one of her greatest joys. She loved fishing, camping, and nature in general. Gardening and watching her flowers bloom brought her lots of happiness, especially her roses. Holidays were special to her, and she loved celebrating every one she could. Christmas, Easter, and Halloween were her favorites, and she always made sure the house was beautifully decorated, the food was delicious, and her family was together.
She married her high school sweetheart, Larry Clay, in 1966, and they remained together until Larry’s passing in 1999. Marilyn met her husband, David Kincaid, through a mutual friend in 2001. They quickly fell in love, with lots of phone conversations lasting until late in the night, and dinner dates going until closing time. They were married the following year in 2002.
Marilyn was primarily a homemaker and took tremendous joy in raising her three children. When her youngest started kindergarten, she became a preschool teacher in the classroom across the hall. Later, she would enjoy working in retail, managing a ladies’ clothing store, and then working at Kohls in the jewelry department.
Marilyn is preceded in death by her parents.
Marilyn is survived by her husband David; daughters, Melanie Clay, Laura Walker (Doug), and Susan Perez (Jeremy); her only grandson and the apple of her eye, Aden Perez; and her sister, Sue Ann Davis (Waylon).
