Marjorie Hewgley Northern, 93, of Murfreesboro, passed on Thursday, March 13, 2025. She was born in Wilson County, Tennessee. Marjorie was a prolific reader who enjoyed mystery novels. In addition, she enjoyed cross stitch and genealogical research finding and documenting historical information on her Hewgley and Northern families. In recent years, she enjoyed painting figures and characters on small rocks. She was a wonderful woman who will be dearly missed by her loving family, friends and all that had the opportunity to know her.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Tolbert Eugene Northern, her parents, Rufus Henry Hewgley, and Eudelle Castleman Hewgley.
She is survived by sons, David (daughter-in-law Sandra), Akron, Ohio, Alan Murfreesboro (daughter-in-law Julie, Lebanon), brother, Harold Hewgley, sister, Jorene Clark, granddaughter Taylor Ridiner (David), Murfreesboro, grandsons Will (fiancé Allie), Warrior, Alabama, Dan, Akron, Ohio, Blake (fiancé Courtney), Murfreesboro, and numerous nephews and nieces.
Visitation with the family is Monday March 17 between 1:00 pm and 2:00 pm at Hermitage Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 535 Shute Lane, Old Hickory, TN 37138. Her Graveside services and internment will follow at 2:00 pm at Hermitage Memorial Gardens in the Garden of Time with Brother David Brandon officiating.
