
Mark Edwin Bitner, born on June 6, 1949, passed away on January 27, 2026, at the age of 76. Mark was a resident of Nashville, known for his adventurous, compassionate, and generous spirit. He was a family focused, caring, selfless, loyal, kind-hearted, and thoughtful individual who touched the lives of many.
Mark is preceded in death by both of his parents, Edwin and Doris Bitner, as well as his brother, Monte.
He is survived by his sister Miriam Boyd, niece Rebecca, nephews Bart and Ricky, and his great nieces and nephews, Kelly, Gracie, Allison, and Joseph.
Mark grew up with his siblings in Donelson, Tennessee, and attended Two Rivers High School. He graduated from Belmont with a Bachelor's Degree, marking the beginning of a life filled with diverse experiences and achievements.
In his early career, Mark worked as an auto salesman, but he spent most of his life as an investor, engaging in various odd jobs. His career path reflected his adventurous nature and willingness to embrace new challenges.
Mark was deeply involved with his family and maintained a close relationship with his siblings, Miriam and Monte, and their children. His family was an integral part of his life, and he was known for his unwavering support and love for them.
His personal interests included a passion for cars, motorcycles, and collecting knives. Mark enjoyed cruising on his Harley with friends, whom he often travelled to Sturgis, South Dakota and Daytona, Florida with for motorcycle rallies. He cherished the camaraderie with those who often rode with him. Mark fondly remembered Willie G. Davidson, of Harley Davidson, taking his own bike for a ride on the Harley Drag Track in Sturgis one year. A devoted family man, he selflessly cared for his parents, aunt, and uncle in their final years. He also spent considerable time at his sister Miriam's farm, where he delighted in driving the tractor, tending to the land, and caring for the cattle and Australian Shepherds.
The family would like to express their gratitude for all of the support from their loved ones and community during this difficult time. Mark Edwin Bitner will be remembered for his kindness, generosity, and the lasting impact he made on those around him.
