

Melvin Edward Demonbreun, age 82, of Hermitage, Tennessee, passed away on July 17, 2025, with his wife, Carolyn by his side. Eddie was born in Nashville, Tennessee, on January 25, 1943, to Frank Melvin and Imogene Andrews Demonbreun.
Eddie enjoyed being outdoors, whether it was on a boat, fishing, or camping trips with his sisters and their families. He was an avid Tennessee Titans fan. His career took him to many places throughout the forty plus years he worked for Western Union and AT&T. In 1998, he retired from AT&T in Stevens City, VA, and returned to Hermitage, TN.
Eddie was preceded in death by his father, Frank Melvin Demonbreun; and his mother, Imogene Andrews Demonbreun. He is survived by his beloved wife of fifty-eight years, Carolyn Smartt Demonbreun; daughter, Terri Suzanne O'Malley; sons Donald (Regina) and Michael (Cindy); grandchildren Rebecca Spencer, Rocky Potts (Ashley), Kyle, Alicia, Rachel, and Benjamin Demonbreun; sisters Dorothy Bridges (William Gregory) and Joyce Gregory. Eddie also leaves behind thirteen nieces and nephews along with many other extended family members and longtime friends.
There will be a Gathering of Family & Friends at the Hermitage Funeral Home on Monday, July 21, from 4pm - 7pm and on Tuesday, July 22, from 10am - 12pm. A Celebration of Life will begin on Tuesday at 12pm in the Tulip Grove Chapel at the funeral home with Mike Mullins officiating. Following the service, Eddie will be laid to rest in the Garden of Devotion at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
