Michael was an avid outdoorsman who was most at home in nature - hunting and fishing with his Dad and PawPaw. Ever the protective son, his Mom was his world. The uncommon bond they shared was evident to all. He cherished the special relationship he had with his Nana and PawPaw. Be it hour-long talks with his Aunt Ave' or all-day cookouts with his Aunt Sheralyn, family meant everything to Michael.
Michael's gentle and caring heart touched all who knew him. He'd never met a stranger. From the homeless man on the corner to an orphaned mouse found in the yard, Michael gave all he had to others.
Michael's love for the outdoors extended to his passion for landscaping. He was meticulous in his work. Whether edging a yard or installing the trees and shrubs for the Nashville Soccer Stadium, he left an indelible mark wherever he was. His absence leaves an unfillable hole in the hearts of the many lives he touched.
Michael is survived by his mother, Kristina Harper (Darrin Crowder); father, Richard Patterson (Kathy); siblings, Bryce Patterson (Jordan), Lindsay Patterson, and Little Michael Crowder; maternal grandfather, Shelby Harper, maternal grandmothers, Nedra Labarge and Patsy Broadway; paternal grandmother, Becky Patterson; aunts Ave´ Hart, Sheralyn Dix (Ryan), Mandy Staples (Chris); uncle Robbie Patterson; as well as many cousins and extended family.
There will be a Gathering of Family & Friends at Hermitage Funeral Home on Sunday, October 23, from 4pm until 8pm, and Monday, October 24, from 12pm until 2pm. A Celebration of Michael’s Life will begin at 2pm in the Tulip Grove Room of the funeral home with Rev. Tom Halliburton, officiating. Richie Patterson, Bryce Patterson, Darrin Crowder, Austin Dix, Devin Dix, and Aaron Malone will serve as pallbearers. Following the service, Michael will be laid to rest in the Garden of Rachel at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
Michael's Life Celebration will be live-streamed on Facebook. The live-stream will not be active until ten to fifteen minutes before the service begins at 2pm (Central). To access the live-stream, sign-in to Facebook. Then search for the "Hermitage Funeral Home & Memorial Gardens" page. Once on our page, scroll down until you see the "Celebration of Life for Michael Anthony Patterson". If you do not see the service preparing to begin, wait a few minutes for it to go "live". Note: We will be utilizing pre-recorded music in the service. We possess licenses with BMI and SESAC and only use music legally. However, on occasion, Facebook does not recognize our licenses right away and can disrupt the live-stream. If that happens, be patient - the live-stream will continue. When the service is no longer "live", it will be a video on our Facebook page. By that time, Facebook relinquishes the "hold" on any of our music and the service can be viewed at your convenience without interruption. We apologize, in advance, if this inconvenience occurs.
