Patsy was born July 4, 1950 in Batesville, MS. Patsy entered the gates of Heaven in the early morning hours of July 31, 2025. She is survived by her husband and love of her life, Robert Simpson, and their children, Tamara Griffin (Todd) and Rob Simpson (Leslie). She is also lovingly remembered by her grandchildren: Kelly Kelley (Aaron), TriciaClare Williams (Clayton), Trendan Griffin, and Trey Michael Griffin as well as her brother, Gerald Neal (Marilyn), all of whom were her greatest joys.
She lived a life full of love—love for her family, love for others, and love for every living creature that crossed her path. She had a heart unlike any other—tender and compassionate, especially toward animals. From stray kittens to baby skunks and possums, from butterflies to frogs and lizards: she rescued them, nurtured them, and saw beauty and worth in all of God’s creation. Her garden was a little sanctuary, full of blooming flowers, buzzing dragonflies, and hummingbirds.
Patsy's home was full of laughter, silly moments, and joy. If one person in the family started to sing, she would jump right in—and soon the whole family would be harmonizing, laughing, and adding their own versions to the song, often in a horribly wrong key, with opera-worthy high notes, and with made up lyrics. She often broke into spontaneous dance moves and came up with clever nicknames for her family, leaving everyone smiling. She had a smile that lit up the room, a laugh that made you feel at home, and bright blue eyes that sparkled with love and kindness.
Throughout her life, Patsy balanced work, faith, and family with gusto, spunk and determination. Her career was built around serving others as a preschool teacher and as the secretary of First Baptist Church in Kosciusko, MS for many years. Her love of the Lord was the foundation of her life, and the light of Jesus shone through her in everything she did.
As a grandmother, she was a creative force and a partner in every project with her husband, Robert. While he built clubhouses, tables, swing sets, Barbie houses, magnets, and more—Meme painted them by hand, pouring love and beauty into every brushstroke. These pieces weren’t just toys or furniture—they were heirlooms, memories, and expressions of love that her grandchildren will treasure forever.
Patricia Neal Simpson was known by many names, but no matter what you called her, you knew her love. And everyone who met her felt it. Her family is comforted knowing that she has been reunited with her Savior in heaven, and that one day, we will all see her again. Until then, we carry her memory and legacy in our hearts. Well done, good and faithful servant. We love you, Patsy.
