Age 78 of Old Hickory, TN passed away at home surrounded by his loving family shortly after midnight on September 27, 2014.
Paul is survived by his wife of 55 years, Mona; his sons Ted (Laura) Fellman, Pete (Stacy) Fellman, and Billy (Nancy) Fellman; his daughters Sue (Kelly) McIver and Jill (Troy) Monk; and grandchildren Kayla, Kelly and Kathy Fellman, Ross Fellman, Zac, Jacob and Carlie Fellman, Brianna, Susie and Amanda Monk, and Avery and Andrew McIver.
Preceded in death by his parents Theodore and Margaret Fellman, and his brother Ted Fellman.
Paul was born December 13, 1935 in Detroit, Michigan. After high school, he served in the United States Army with distinction, including a tour in Korea during the Korean conflict. While in the Army he met Mona Long, and they were married on July 11, 1959. After the Army, Paul went on to have a successful career as a machinist with the John Harland check printing company, serving 31 years until his retirement. After retirement he worked for Gaylord at the Grand Ole Opry and Opryland.
Paul was an amazing husband, father and grandfather. He loved his family, sports, and especially fishing. Many people in Old Hickory remember Paul as an outstanding baseball and basketball coach.
Visitation with the family will be on Monday, September 29 from 4-8pm at Hermitage Memorial Gardens. A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, September 30 at 10am at St. Stephen Catholic Community, followed by the burial service at Hermitage Gardens at approximately 11:30am. There will be a luncheon at St. Stephen following the burial.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either the American Heart Association or the St. Stephen Catholic Community building fund.
