Richard V. "Dick" Dudley

DUDLEY, Richard V. age 75, passed away to be with the Lord on Nov 3, 2013. Preceded in death by parents, Claude & Oleene Dudley; brother, Robert Dudley, sister, Carolyn Dudley. Survived by loving wife of 33 years, Carolyn Smith Dudley; daughter, Deborah (David) Cannon of Bowling Green, KY.; son, Rick Dudley of Nashville. He was a member of Tulip Grove Baptist Church & former member of Two Rivers Baptist. Dick was a graduate of Hillsboro High School class of 1956 and attended Peabody College. Dick worked in Personnel/HR management for many years and retired from Opryland after working in security for 15 years. After retirement he worked in sales at Hearth & Grill and Space Maker Bldgs. Dick enjoyed woodworking, watching sports, playing golf and spending time with family & friends. Funeral Services will be 11am Wed. Nov 6th with Bro. Gerald Bontrager & Dr. Paul Brown officiating at Hermitage Funeral Home. Interment will follow at Ridgewood Cemetery in Carthage, TN at 2pm. Bob Holligsworth, Jim League, Mickey Matthews, John R Smith, Jeff Burke, Joe Burke, Bob Thomas, Dan French & Terry Kibler will serve as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be Vernon Pegram & Harmony Sunday School Class. Visitation Tues. Nov 5th 3pm until 7 pm and one hour prior to service on Wed. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions can be made in Dick’s honor to Tulip Grove Baptist Church, 563 Shute Lane, Old Hickory, TN 37138.
