I knew Richard from shopping at Publix. He always had a smile on his face, and was always so nice any time I was in his checkout line. I could tell that he was a true gentleman. I know his family, friends and co-workers will miss him.

 We were all saddened to hear of Richard's passing; we, along with Richard are all members of Wade Hampton's Class of 1969.  Richard was very popular and was very well liked, he blended in and was a guy no one ever said anything negative about him.  One thing I do remember very well was his sense of humor and he had a knack for his wit, he could say things in such a serious way which were so amusing. He could really make you laugh at yourself.  It would have been very difficult not to like and graviitate around him.  We valued his friendship.  
   We are sure that there is a big void in his family's lives as this leaves a void in ours; as good of a friend and as repectable individual as he was, he was a great son, brother, husband, and father.  Although we all pursued our lives in different directions and were not in close contact with each other, we know he could not have been any other way.  Please accept our condolences, we are thinking of him and you and our energies are combining with yours to give you the strength to persevere and endure. I worked with Richard at Publix for a couple of years. As a 14 year old having my first job was an experience. Richard was always there to help and teach valuable lessons. He will truly be missed

Although we never met Richard, we felt as though we knew him through talking with you at the office.  Looking at his picture, he had such a beautiful smile, and so many comments have been made about it.  Please know that you and your family are in our thoughts and prayers during this time of healing.

Richard was a very sweet spirit just like his father. Have not seen him in years but always will remember his great smile. Gone way too soon.His daddy and my daddy were brothers, and Richard was my 1st cousin.Please know that though he is not with you anymore, he is where we all want to be.

I remember Richard from Wade Hampton as friendly, laid back, and kind.  I was not aware of how closely we lived until now as I am too a Nashville resident and have frequented this Publix store sadly not realizing a former classmate was there.  My thoughts and prayers are with your family now and while I know you miss him, it is a comfort knowing he is happy and pain free in heaven.

So sorry to hear of Richards death. I grew up with Richard and Melissa who are  good friends.   In prayer for you Sandra.

Thoughts and prayers are with you.  My son worked at Publix with Richard.  He was such a blessing and a buddy every time we went into the store.  My mom died of cancer last year and Richard was always so supportive and caring.  I miss his smile.
