Sandy is preceded in death by her mother, Pauline Hasty, and her former husband, Roger Pierce Lanier, Jr.
She is remembered by her daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly and Mark George, along with numerous dear friends in her community and at Red Cedar Glenn, all of whom were touched by her kindness and generosity. Sandy was incredibly proud of her daughter, Kimberly, and spoke of her often to anyone who would listen. Her pride went far beyond Kimberly’s career in federal law enforcement—it was rooted in the strong, compassionate, and accomplished woman she had become.
Sandy had a deep love for reading, especially romance novels, and found great joy in all things jewelry. She was fascinated by gemstones—studying them, admiring their beauty, and wearing them with pride. She knew each birthstone by heart and enjoyed sharing that knowledge with others. Sandy was known for her giving spirit and found happiness in selecting thoughtful gifts for those she loved.
In her younger years, Sandy was a hair model, reflecting the natural beauty she carried both inside and out throughout her life.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at 12:00 p.m. Burial will take place immediately after. All services will be held at Hermitage Funeral Home.
Sandy’s warmth, generosity, and gentle spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.
