A precious one from us has gone,
A voice we loved is stilled.
A place is vacant in our home,
That never can be filled.
Known as Grannie to her family, Sharon had a beautiful, kind, colorful, and vibrant personality that will be greatly missed. She was born in Lancaster, Pennsylvania and attended Catawba College in North Carolina where she received her teaching degree and met Dennis. She taught elementary school for several years before focusing on family life as her top priority.
Sharon and Dennis were long time members of Connection United Methodist Church after moving to Hermitage and previously attended Gladeville Methodist Church. In recent years, Sharon participated in a letter writing ministry that gave her happiness knowing she was supporting others. She was an avid reader and member of the church's book club. She also enjoyed traveling with her husband and spoiling her grandchildren.
A Celebration to Honor Sharon's Life will be held at 2:00 PM on Friday, August 29, in the Tulip Grove Chapel at Hermitage Funeral Home, 535 Shute Lane, Old Hickory, Tennessee. There will be a time of visitation from 12:00 PM - 1:45 PM at the funeral home. A brief graveside service will be held immediately after the Celebration of Life along with a short reception for those that would like to stay and visit with the family.
In lieu of flowers, donations to The Lupus Research Alliance can be made to help with future research of autoimmune conditions that impacted Sharon's life, as well as other members of her immediate family (lupusresearch.org/join-us/donate/).
