Sylvia Jean Von Dohlen

She was a graduate of North Nashville High School, where she was a cheerleader and band member. She was retired from the State of Tennessee where she worked for over forty years for Employment Security.

She was preceded in death by Edgar L. & Violet Nelson and Johnny B. & Fannie Von Dohlen.

She is survived by family, Bobby Nelson (Faye), Bernard R. Von Dohlen, Anita Cline, Iris Hoffarth; children, David B. Von Dohlen (Betsy), Karen L. Von Dohlen, Sandra Shanks (Mike), Julia Roberts (Randy), Tina Stanley (Tom); grandchildren, Chris Von Dohlen (MaryAnne), Ryan Von Dohlen (Katrina), Danielle Piercey (Josh), Hunter Barnes, Katy Biddle (Matt), Kelley Ferrell (Chase), Kendall Roberts, Kaleb Roberts, Matt Stanley & Elizabeth Stanley; 12 great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Life service will be 11:00 am Friday, December 30, 2016 at The Hermitage Church located on the property of The Hermitage, 4580 Rachel's Lane, Hermitage, TN 37076 with Rev. Denman Frazer officiating. Inurnment will be at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.

The family will receive friends from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at the church.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Red Cross.
