Tommy Eual Peters

Tommy Eual Peters, 77, of Nashville TN., born in Pennington Gap, VA, son of the late Luther and Ruth Peters, loving husband of Betty Jo Seegraves Peters, passed away peacefully on November 20, 2015 after a lengthy illness. Fondly loved by his wife of 52 years, Betty Peters, daughters Sabrina McClure and Erika Peters, and granddaughter Jessica McClure. Also much remembered by his sisters Nancy Allen (Billy Allen) and Geraldine Peters, and nieces Karen Stephens (Roger Stephens) and Donna Beneke (Tim Beneke). Tommy graduated from Oak Ridge High School and joined the Navy, later serving with the Naval Reserves. He worked as a draftsman and later as a codes inspector for Metro Nashville until his retirement in 2000. He was actively involved in the Donelson Civitan Girls Softball program throughout the 80’s where he coached his daughters and many of the area’s young ladies. He was an animal lover and always had a pet or two; he just recently adopted a stray found in the front yard and supports a lucky community of feral cats that call the backyard home. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and family, spoiling his grand-daughter and making home improvements that either delighted or dismayed his family. Tommy had a very kind heart and will be dearly missed by his family and friends. Visitation will be held Saturday, November 28, 2015, at Hermitage Memorial Gardens on Shute’s Lane from 12:00 – 4:00 pm. Remembrances may be made in the form desired by friends and family.
