

SCOTT, Wiley Bascom “Bud”, “Scotty”, 77. April 1, 2013. Preceded in death by parents, John Wiley Scott and Edna Evans Scott; sister, Beatrice Scott Robinson. Survived by wife of 45 years, Judy; daughter, Cynthia Scott, Nashville; sisters, Gladys Scott, Gertrude Black, Decatur, AL and Nina Smith, Moulton, AL; several nieces and nephews, Alabama and Tennessee; other relatives and friends. Mr. Scott was born in Decatur, AL and graduated from Austinville School in 1954 and Auburn University in 1958. He then began working for the Soil Conservation Service, now NRCS in 1958, retiring after 52 years of service. He was a member at Bellview Baptist, Decatur, AL, then after moving to Nashville, he became a member at Belmont Heights Baptist, later he served as a Trustee and Deacon at Una Baptist and then as Deacon at Smith Springs Baptist. He also volunteered yearly at the Nashville Baptist Association Christmas Toy Store. Visitation with the family 4 – 8 p.m. Thursday and Noon – 2 p.m. Friday. Funeral services 2 p.m. Friday, April 5, 2013 in Hermitage Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Gene Fant, Sr. officiating. Interment will follow in Hermitage Memorial Gardens. Family and friends will serve as Active Pallbearers. Honorary Pallbearers, Army Infantry Command Master Sgt John Black currently serving in Afghanistan, Deacons and Men of Smith Springs Baptist Church, Employees and Retirees of the Natural Resources and Conservation Service, Nashville Baptist Association Christmas Toy Store Volunteers.
