William E McGee, 86, passed away Sunday November 5, 2023 at his home in Nashville, Tennessee. William was born January 22, 1937 in Dover, TN to Landis and Emma McGee. William spent his childhood growing up in Dover and graduated from Dover high school. Following High School, William joined the United States Air Force and served honorably for 8 years.
William held several jobs before joining Colonial Bakery where he was an Assistant Chief Engineer. He retired from Colonial after 30 plus years of service. William loved the outdoors and enjoyed fishing and hunting. He also loved watching Nascar and football whenever he could. Family was important to William and he especially loved spending time with his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
William is survived by his sons; Ernie (Ann) McGee, Donald McGee, daughters; Myrna (Tim) Lynn Smith and Susan Phipps, a sister Mildred Shoultz, 11 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
A gathering of family and friends will be held Friday November 10, 2023 from 2:00PM – 8:00PM at the Hermitage Funeral Home and Memorial Gardens, 535 Shute Ln, Old Hickory Tennessee, and from 10:00AM until time of service at 2:00PM on Saturday November 11. 2023. Interment to follow in the Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
