

W.M. Boyd Adams, age 91, of Nashville, Tennessee passed away peacefully on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was born on January 22, 1934 in Hillsboro, Tennessee to parents, Grover and Zena Adams. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, and a respected businessman whose impact was felt in both the transportation and motorsports industries.

Boyd’s entrepreneurial spirit and strong work ethic led him to establish several successful transportation companies headquartered in Nashville, including Limousines Unlimited and The Drive-U service.For 26 years, Boyd and his dedicated staff provided transportation for celebrities, dignitaries, and high-profile clients, earning a reputation for professionalism and excellence. His business operations later expanded into Allentown, Pennsylvania, where he was honored with a key to the city in recognition of his contributions to the local economy and community.
In addition to his work in transportation, Boyd made a lasting mark on the motorsports community. From 1988 to 1994, he served as the leaseholder and promoter of the Nashville Motor Raceway at the Tennessee State Fairgrounds. His leadership and dedication to the sport was recognized in 2011 when he was inducted into the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway Hall of Fame.
Boyd’s legacy is one of vision, determination, and deep love for his family. He will be remembered for his tireless dedication, strong work ethic, generous spirit, and the joy he brought to those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mr. Adams is preceded in death by his father, Grover Cleve Adams; and his mother, Zena Davis Adams. He is survived by his loving wife of seventy-one years, Dorothy Ann Adams; son, Gary Adams (Debbie); daughter, Connie Bouldin (Chris; grandchildren Jeremy Adams (Ashley), Jennifer Adams, Brittany Bouldin, Matthew Bouldin (Lindsey), Kyle Bouldin (Lauren); great-grandchildren Allie Adams, Austin Adams, Bristol Gilchrist, Bryson Gilchrist, Parker Bouldin, and Baker Bouldin.
There will be a Gathering of Family & Friends at Hermitage Funeral Home on Monday, June 30, from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM followed by a Celebration of Life in the Tulip Grove Chapel at the funeral home. Rev. Gary Neal will officiate. Following the service, Mr. Adams will be laid to rest at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
