She was born in Creswell, Kentucky to the late Algie Dunn and Effie Murry Dunn. Mrs. Cook was a member of the Order Of Eastern Star for 75 years and was of the Methodist faith. She retired from Opryland Hotel. She enjoyed sewing, baking and cooking, and made the best chicken and dumplings. Mrs. Cook was a loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Cook; daughter, Linda Berrong; and siblings, Stratha Dunn, George Dunn, Virginia Thompson, and Imogene Cook.
Mrs. Cook is survived by her three children, Stephen Cook (Linda), Patricia Jernigan (Rick) and Kitty Dorris (Wayne); eight grandchildren, Steve Harris, Lori Harris, Carrie Barrow, Kelly Jernigan, Matt Jernigan (Jennifer), JR Jernigan (Jen), Casey Shelton and Sara Shelton; five great grandchildren, Logan Harris, Timothy Barrow, Mandie Barrow, Jake Jernigan and Finley Jernigan; and one great grandchild on the way, "Doodle Bug."
The Celebration of Life will be at Hermitage Funeral Home on Wednesday, September 18, 2019 at 2:00 pm with Dr. Chuck Groover officiating.
Visitation will be from 10:00 am until the time of the service.
Entombment will follow the service at Hermitage Memorial Gardens.
In lieu of flowers, Mrs. Cook's family suggests memorial contributions be made to Amedisys Hospice, 400 Royal Parkway, Nashville, Tennessee 37214.
