

John Robert Cordock, 58, passed away unexpectedly on April 12, 2022 at his home in Old Lyme. He was the devoted husband of Reyly Cordock and an exceptional father to his son, Sean Patrick. John was born on January 20,1964 at Lawrence and Memorial Hospital in New London to the late James Howard and Patricia Noonan Cordock.
He grew up in Groton, CT before settling and establishing a beautiful home in Old Lyme. He graduated from Fitch High School in 1982. John was employed by the Dominion Nuclear Power Plant in Waterford. He was a parishioner of Christ the King Church in Old Lyme.
He loved spending his time with his family and friends, fishing, gardening, travelling, taking on different projects, but especially cooking for his many friends on special occasions. John will be most remembered for his friendly, kindhearted nature, a nurturing soul, his selflessness and willingness to give his time and talents to others. John touched the lives of everyone he came into contact with- family, friends and work colleagues. He cared deeply about everyone he knew and always wanted to bring people together. While we are filled with unimaginable grief and sadness, we are all fortunate by the time we had with him. John will be missed deeply but his life and legacy will live on forever.
He is survived by his wife of nineteen years, Reyly Cordock and his son Sean Patrick. His siblings, James Edward Cordock, wife Valerie Ellen residing in Indiantown, Fl. and children James Martin and Daniel Stuart. Thomas Michael Cordock, wife Anna Ewa, Lebanon, CT and Catherine Therisa Wible, husband Douglas Drew, Goose Creek, SC and children Timothy Adam Oleszkowicz, wife Brandy of Summerville, SC and nieces, Jennifer Ann Blaisdell, husband Evan of Germantown, MD and Laura Lynn Milliken, husband Ashley of Goose Creek SC and his great nieces, Lilly Belle Milliken, Lee Lynn Jane Oleszkowicz and great nephews, Zayne Gonzales Inman and Simon Guo Blaisdell along with the family’s pet dog Finn and his family in the Philippines.
His aunts Lillian Scaplin of East Lyme, CT, Mary Ann Hastings and Uncle Richard James Hastings Sr. residing in Youngsville, NC and his cousins, Richard James Hastings Jr., wife Maria Ludovina Hastings, Oxford, NC and Christine Louise Osborne, husband Rex Allen Osborne, Bald Head Island, NC and their children Collin and Harrison.
A wake will be held April 20, Wednesday from 4:30- 7:30pm at Christ the King, 1 McCurdy Road, Old Lyme. A memorial service will be held April 21, Thursday at 11am at the same location. Reception follows at Christ the King Reception Hall.
