

Kathryn “Kay” Tubridy of Old Lyme CT, formerly of Black Point Beach, Niantic CT died at home surrounded by loved ones. Born on February 3, 1942, in Hartford, CT, she was the daughter of the late Vincent E. Turley and the late Katharine McCarthy Turley, and the stepdaughter of the late Jane Nagle Turley. Kay was predeceased by her husband, Robert E. Tubridy, brother, John Turley and her two very special Aunts Gladys M. Turley and Gertrude K. Turley.
She is survived by her loving children: Robert E. Tubridy of Cromwell, CT; Matthew P. Tubridy and his partner, Miranda Merritt, of Bradenton, FL; and Meghan McCulloch and her husband, John J. McCulloch, of Old Lyme, CT
She was a devoted grandmother to Jack and Abby Tubridy, Emma and Madalyn McCulloch, and Christian Valli.
Kay is also survived by her brother, Vincent E. Turley Jr., and her sister-in-law, C. Francis Barringer.
She leaves behind her cherished friends, Joan Murphy, and Yolanda Carroll—affectionately known together as “The Tin Roses”—as well as dear friends, Donna Orefice, Tony Schillaci and Don Church.
A proud graduate of Mount Saint Joseph Academy in West Hartford, CT, and Marymount College in Tarrytown, NY, Kay dedicated much of her professional life to real estate, working as a licensed broker for 29 years. She also served as Secretary and Treasurer of the Black Point Beach Club Association for 19 years, reflecting her commitment to community and service.
Kay was a devoted member of Christ the King Parish in Old Lyme, where she served as a Eucharistic Minister and remained actively involved in church life.
A Funeral Mass and reception will be held at Christ the King Church, 1 McCurdy Road, Old Lyme, CT on Wednesday, August 13, 2025 at 2:00pm with the reception to follow at 3:00pm.
You are invited to celebrate Kay’s life by attending the Funeral Mass, joining the family at the reception following the service, or both. Please join them however you are able.
A private burial will be held at a later date.
