Theodore Lawrence Ballachino Jr.

Theodore (Teddy) L. Ballachino Jr., 61 of old Lyme passed away on December 18, 2020 peacefully with his family by his side after a short illness. Ted was born on February 26, 1959 in New Britain to Theodore and Annmarie (Marotto) Ballachino. Ted could best be described as a gentle giant. He was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was a long-time employee of Guy’s Oil in Niantic. The family would like to thank the entire Guy’s family for all the support they have shown over the past few months. He was a member of the Sons of the American Legion in Niantic. On Fridays during lent Ted, Joanne, Pete and Gary were responsible for serving amazing fish& chip dinners. Trust me, no one went home hungry. Ted was happiest on his boat fishing with his friends and cousins. Ted is survived by his sister Roxanne Ballachino of Manchester Ct. His one true love and best friend Joanne Sligar, stepdaughter Ashley Tackling, grandson Terrence Cowart and his fur babies Bella, Lilly and Duncan.

Calling Hours will be held on Monday, December 28, 2020 from 4:00 until 7:00pm in Fulton-Theroux Funeral Home, 13 Beckwith Ln., Old Lyme, CT. Please wear a mask and follow our Covid guidelines. A Graveside service will be held on Tuesday, December 29, 2020 at 11:00am in Duck River Cemetery, Old Lyme.
