Known affectionately as Vinny, Dad, and Papa, Vincent was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and family man. He married the love of his life, Caroline Kennison Doughty, on June 23, 1973, whom he adored for more than 52 years.
Vincent served in the Connecticut National Guard and later completed two years of service in the United States Army. A lifelong hard worker, he spent many years in construction and later retired from the Town of Old Lyme, where he worked as a backhoe operator at the recycling center.
Vinny was always busy with a project and was known for his strong work ethic and steady dedication. He found joy in tending to his yard and home, and one of his favorite pastimes was walking at Rocky Neck State Park.
He is survived by his beloved wife Caroline; his son Bryan Doughty (Heather); his daughter Teresa Webster (Dave); his cherished grandchildren Brynn (Jordan), Hayden, Bryce, Lucas, and Lyda; and his niece Zanda Doughty Gutek (Richard).
He was predeceased by his mother, Josephine, his father James, his sister Barbara Rosenstein, his twin brother Charlie, and his nephew James.
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to Connecticut Hospice for their compassionate care and support. Private services will be held for the family.
