John led an extraordinary life that few could imagine. Working as the top clothing designer for Oscar de Laurent. John worked all over the world, including Paris, Italy and New York City for 42 years.
John had many interests which included art, music, movies, his dogs and books. He could be found in his favorite chair in the morning, reading mystery novels for many hours. He would fondly tell dinner guests of the antics working with celebrity clients or about the models showing his designs down the catwalks of the New York fashion industry. On his travels abroad, he could be seen at antique auctions with his employer, Oscar, or later years at antique shows with Brad and friends, trying to locate an ice cream stand and that little trinket that makes a house a home.
Besides his husband, Bradford of 25 years, John is survived by two brothers-in-law: Frederick Dahl and his partner, Elaine Warner and Laurence Dahl and his partner Robert Wadsworth. He also leaves many, many dear and close friends. He will be missed by all who knew him, especially all his friends at Nancy’s Rosemary and Sage. Special thanks to CWL.
All services for John will be private.
