Doris Eileen Oviatt

Doris Eileen Oviatt, 78, of Old Saybrook passed away on January 4, 2015. Born on April 29, 1936 in Waterbury, CT Doris is the daughter of the late Albert J. and Grace (Carter) Navickas. Doris leaves behind her children Melissa Gaillardetz and her husband George, Bill Goslee and his wife Betsy and James Goslee and his wife Joan; 8 grandchildren; her siblings Dianne Murphy and her husband Robert, Richard Navickas and his wife Judith and Albert Navickas and his wife Patricia. Doris also leaves behind her nieces and nephews and a lovely circle of dear friends. Besides her parents, Doris was predeceased by her husband Eugene T. Ovaitt.

Doris had a love for birds, watching them fly and hearing their songs. She enjoyed knitting, reading and being at the beach. Her family would like to extend a special Thank You to the Middlesex Hospital Hospice for the remarkable care they provided to Doris. Family and friends may join for a graveside service at West Cemetery in Madison on Saturday January 10 at 10:00am, and afterwards for a time of gathering at Saybrook Village on Sheffield St., Old Saybrook.
