Elizabeth M. Ward

Ward- Elizabeth M. Ward 95, of Westbrook, formerly of Kensington, died June 9, 2011. She was the widow of Kenneth J. Ward Sr. Elizabeth was born in Providence RI and was the daughter of Geovanni and Assunta (Martuccelli) Vespasiano. Mrs. Ward was a member of St. Mark’s Church Westbrook, for many years where she was very active serving in many capacities. She was also a board member of New Britain General Hospital where she was also a longtime volunteer. She is survived by her grandson and his wife, Matthew and Shelly Perry of West Virginia, her great grandchild, Matthew Perry Jr., her sisters Phyllis Solito, Teresa Koziol, and Lillian Sentro, her sister in law, Laura Saraceno, brothers in law, Robert Ward, Thomas Ward Jr. and William McMurray, and several nieces and nephews. Besides her husband she was predeceased by a son, Kenneth J. Ward Jr., a daughter Geraldine Perry, her brothers, Alberto Saraceno, and Victor Saraceno, and a sister Marianne Tufano. Family and friends may visit on Wednesday June 15, 2011 from 4-7 p.m. at the Swan Funeral Home 1224 Boston Post Road Old Saybrook . A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday June 17, 2011, 10:30 a.m. at St. Mark’s Church 222 McVeagh Rd. Westbrook. Burial will be private.
