

On Monday, February 6, Jack Watrous age 64, of Chester passed from this world to the next. He was born on February 3 in Middletown to George and Daisy Watrous. Jack was a 1966 graduate of Valley Regional High School and was a veteran of the United States Air Force working for the Strategic Air Command. Jack lived his life to the fullest and touched the lives of many young people as a soccer coach for many years at Valley Regional and the Lyme-Old Lyme High School. Over the course of his coaching career he led many teams to the State soccer championships. Jack worked for many years at R. R. Donnelly in Old Saybrook. At the time of his death, he was employed as a custodian in the Lyme- Old Lyme School System.
Jack was a Ding Dong Daddy and cooler than the other side of the pillow. He was a lifelong Red Sox Fan. Besides his mother, Daisy, he is survived by his beloved wife Elizabeth; his daughters Abby Roccapriore and her husband Brian; Jenny Watrous and her partner Drew McLachlan; grandchildren Rex and Rory Smith; sister Denise Markovitz and her husband Mike, and many adored nieces, nephews, and cousins. He was predeceased by his first wife, Linda, and predeceased by his father, George.
Family and friends may visit the Swan Funeral Home, 1224 Boston Post Road, Old Saybrook on Thursday from 4 pm to 7pm. A service of Remembrance will be held on Friday, February 10 at 11am at the Deep River Congregational Church.
