Jean Marble

She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Jud, in 2000. Loving mother of Scott and his wife, Janice, of Medfield, MA; Todd of Kent; and Cathy King and her husband, Thad, of Essex. Adoring grandmother of Warren King, Mitchell King, Mason King, Holden King, Reid Marble, and Tristan Marble. Sister of Hilding Carlson and his wife, Gloria, of North Stonington. Dear friend of Ron Griggs, of Berlin.

Jean was born on January 12, 1930 to Hilding and Mary Carlson in New Britain. She was a long time resident of Kensington, where she and Jud raised their family. She attended Berlin Public Schools and Teachers College of Connecticut. Her life was dedicated to educating and caring for young children; she was a Kindergarten Teacher in the New Britain Public School System for over 35 years. She was a member of Kensington Congregational Church, and Westbrook Congregational Church. Upon retirement, she resided in Venice, FL and Westbrook, and spent a great deal of time visiting with her children and grandchildren.

Services will be private. In lieu of flowers or donations, please tell your family members you love them and do something kind for a child. The Swan Funeral Home, 1224 Boston Post Road, Old Saybrook, is in charge of arrangements.
