

John Michael Henebry, 49, of Middletown, CT passed away on March 5, 2014 after a long battle with Multiple Sclerosis. John was born October 2, 1964 in Middletown, CT to the late Philip F Henebry Jr. and Lucille Proulx Henebry, previously residing in Deep River, CT.
He graduated from Valley Regional High School in Deep River, CT and from the Porter and Chester Institute in Rocky Hill, CT. John was employed by Whelen Engineering Company in Chester, CT until he retired due to his illness.
John was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved baseball and hockey and was a lifelong fan of the Boston Red Sox and Boston Bruins. John rode a bicycle from Old Saybrook, CT to Los Angeles, CA the summer after his high school graduation. He was also a talented woodworker having won several awards for furniture he built.
John is survived and will be dearly missed by his sisters, Ann M. Henebry and her husband James R. Rafford of Middletown and Celeste Proulx of Cromwell, CT. Also his brothers, Philip F. Henebry of Santa Rosa Beach, FL and Mark D. Henebry and his wife Leslie of Essex, CT.
John's family would like to express their deep gratitude to the staffs of Water's Edge Center for Health and Rehabilitation and Beacon Hospice for their wonderful care and support during his illness.
Services will begin Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 11 AM at the Swan Funeral Home in Old Saybrook, CT. Burial will follow in St. Joseph's RC Church Cemetery in Chester, CT.
