John Charles Shannon

John Charles Shannon, 71, of Old Saybrook passed away Sunday (February 22, 2015). He was born September 15, 1943 in Hartford and was predeceased by his parents, Charles John Shannon and Alice (Wagner) Shannon of Hartford. He was also predeceased by a son, Charles Todd Shannon. John is survived by his son, Douglas John Shannon of Newington, a daughter Anna Maria Shannon of Arizona, a grandson, Charles Michael Shannon of Wethersfield, a granddaughter, Kayla Ann Fabiano of Meriden and a beloved aunt, Stephanie Redman of Anaheim California. He graduated from Weaver High School in 1961 and was a production engineer for many years at Pratt & Whitney Aircraft in East Harford and Middletown. John was an avid fisherman, as a boy, fishing at Lake Hayward in Colchester and as a Dad, fishing in Old Saybrook with his boys. John loved to visit tropical areas, but, he was most at home on the Connecticut shoreline. He was a passionate sports fan. Go Giants!
