He was the son of Jay Dexter Newcomb and Evelyn Myrtle Tompkins Newcomb.
Richard served in the U.S. Army. He was formerly employed as a collator operator at Uarco. He has a love for automobiles, and frequently attended car shows. In his spare time he enjoyed song writing and playing the banjo and mandolin. He had a huge heart and took great pride in his family.
Richard is survived by his children Jay Newcomb of Deep River, Christine Fayle and her husband Myles of Deep River, Richelle Rowe and her husband David of Westbrook, his four grandchildren Melani Deniger, Jeremy Deniger, Emilija Rowe and David Rowe.
In addition to his parents he was also predeceased by his brother Edward Newcomb.
Richard is also survived by his brothers, Don Newcomb of Oregon, Larry Newcomb of Oklahoma, Walter Newcomb of Virginia, his sisters Jean Roeper of Florida and Tracy Lopez of New York, along with countless other family and friends who were blessed to know him.
