

Bob leaves his loving wife of 57 years, Charlotte (Haefs) and his children Robert Jr. and his wife Cheri, Julie Butryman and her husband John, four grandchildren, Tyler Norton and his fiancée Emily Dalton, Kayla Rosenberger and her husband Nathan, Andrew Butryman, and Robert Butryman. Also, two great-grandchildren, Oliver Rosenberger and Everly Rosenberger. Bob also leaves his brother Joseph and several nephews.
Bob was a proud member of the Newington Police Department for over 30 years, beginning at age 21, mostly as a respected detective. He was a life member of the East Glastonbury Fish & Game Club where he enjoyed many hours fishing for trout in their pond. He was also an avid hunter and especially enjoyed his deer hunting trips with his friend Roger Jacko.
Bob was a great cook and will be missed by his gourmet group, having spent over 50 years enjoying many wonderful meals and friendships. He loved watching the Red Sox, UConn basketball, and the Patriots. Bob also loved his golfing buddies in both Old Saybrook and Port St Lucie.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2023 from 9am until 10:30am at Swan Funeral Home, located at 1224 Boston Post Rd, Old Saybrook, CT. A Funeral Mass will be held following calling hours on July 8 at 11:00am at St. John’s Roman Catholic Church, located at 161 Main St, Old Saybrook.
