

“Charlie”
MILFORD---Charles Edward Adam Oliver, 68, died December 26, 2019 at a Bangor hospital with family by his side. He was born May 3, 1951 at home in Millinocket, the middle child of five, son of Robert and Joan (Garland) Oliver.
Charlie was an outstanding football player at Old Town High School and was offered several scholarships to play football in college. He will be fondly remembered as a fine finish carpenter and worked in many houses in the greater Old Town area over his career. He was an active member of the Old Town Orono Rotary Club, serving as president and being awarded the Paul Harris Fellow. He led many of the Rotary building projects throughout the community. He enjoyed time spent at camp on North Twin, Millinocket, long drives with his wife to the coast, the county, or just the woods. He shared special times and memories camping at Lily Bay State Park, Greenville with David and Shirley, and many memories with lifelong friends Jack and Val; and he could never forget the “Cardville Crew” of Bill and Darlene, Shawn and Mary, David and Glenda, and Dennis and Marsha. Family was important to Charlie and he was always there for his children and grandchildren, attending every event possible.
He is survived by his wife of 50 years Brynn (Lewin) Oliver; three daughters Joanna Morrison and her husband Tyler, Jenny Becker and her husband Chris and Karen and Ricky Lee; seven grandchildren Jacob, Julianna, Christiana, Keely, Ethan, Lucas, and Jordyn; and great granddaughter Winona; four siblings William and Mary K. Oliver, Thomas Oliver, Robert Oliver, and Dorothy and Jeffrey Nadeau; brother-in-law Shawn Lewin, many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents.
A celebration of his life gathering will be conducted 5-7 PM Friday January 3, 2020 at the Birmingham Funeral Home 438 Main St Old Town where a memorial service will be conducted 10AM Saturday. Spring interment will be at Millinocket Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to any one of Charlie’s favorite organizations: Rotary Club of Old Town, United Cerebral Palsy, Camp Capella, Maine Youth Fish and Game, and the Old Town Animal Orphanage
