

MILFORD—Edward Dale Ketch, 85, passed away August 16, 2020 at his residence after a courageous battle with lung cancer. Edward was born July 13, 1935 in Caribou, a son of Israel L. Ketch Jr. and Hazel (Patterson) Ketch.
After graduating from high school, he enlisted in the US Army as a paratrooper and made 33 jumps. Upon returning home, he met and married Jean Schmitz. Most of Edward’s career was spent as a self-employed woodsman. He ended his career working as a scaler for McPherson Timberlands. Edward loved hunting, camping, horseshoes, and traveling with his wife in their RV. Most of all Edward loved being with his family. Edward was a lifetime member of the Old Town Elks BPOE #1287 and the First Congregational Church of Milford.
He is survived by his loving wife Jean, who he adored and cherished for over 61 years; son Roger of Bangor, daughters Donna Buckley and Tom of Brewer, and Dale Carl and Randy of Canaan; grandchildren Andrew (Tabitha), Kristina (Roger), Allison (Ben), Joseph (Taylor), James (Macey); great grandchildren Jacob, Aiden, Emma, Olivia, Eva, and Rowan; brother Samuel Robert “Bobby” Ketch and special friend Wayne Montgomery.
He was predeceased by his parents, sister Frances, brothers John and Clarence, nephew “special son” Wayne A. Spencer.

A graveside service with military honors will be conducted 2PM Sunday September 13, 2020 at the Gould’s Ridge Cemetery, Passadumkeag.
