Gabriella C. Do Amaral

OLD TOWN—Gabriella C. Do Amaral, 21, died unexpectedly July 9, 2012 after suffering an medical issue while jogging on July 2, 2012. She was born in Bangor May 5, 1991 a daughter of Jose P. and Terri L. (Coulombe) Do Amaral.

Gabi was a very caring and energetic young woman and encouraged people to do and be their very best. She was a 2009 Graduate of Old Town High School where she participated in many activities. She was active in the music program and played in symphonic, concert, and jazz bands playing the clarinet and bass guitar. She played field hockey, basketball, and diving. She was very active in social activities including envirothon, operation breaking stereotypes, and went to Louisiana following Hurricane Katrina to help build houses. She was a junior at Hampshire College, Amherst, MA and had just completed a semester abroad in Cuba. She loved music, art, people and loved the outdoors, nature, and water.

She is survived by her parents Terri and Jose Do Amaral of Old Town; maternal grandparents Donna Coulombe of Old Town and Reginald Coulombe of FL; paternal grandparents Hilda Brita “Teresa” and Jose Odir Do Amaral of Brazil; several aunts uncles and cousins in Maine and Brazil.
