George A. Sanborn

Passadumkeag—George A. Sanborn, 76, died peacefully at his residence May 8, 2012. He was born October 7, 1935 in Old Town a son of Bert and Mabel (Spencer) Sanborn.

George was a veteran having proudly served with the US Army during Korea. He wa a past member of the VFW. George was a hardworking man and worked various jobs throughout his lifetime including many years at kagan-Lown Shoe, doing chimney and stone work, paving, and carpentry. He was a gifted artist and writer and will be remembered for his songs and poems.

He is survived by four children Kevin Sanborn and his fiancé Bonnie Williams of Hudson, Christine Kealiher and her husband Kenneth Jr of Corinna, Sylvia Page and her husband James of Corith, and Darlene Carey of Stillwater; 6 grandchildren Kristy Jackson, Jessica Mendoza, Gregory Kealiher, Sarah MacCorrison, Kirk Werren, and Jesse Carey; many great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents and a brother Frank Sanborn and sister Mary Sanborn and half brother Ralph Smart Sr and uncle Lewis Smart.
