

He graduated from Old Town High School in 2004, where he had a passion for wrestling. He was currently employed by JR. Madden Construction.
He will always be remembered for his love of life, smile, infectious laugh and his desire to help everyone he met. He was passionate about the work he did at the Oxford house, narcotics anonymous and the outreach programs. Matt had much respect and admiration to his sponsors which he had a close relationship with. He never gave up hope on anyone, he always looked for the good in everyone. He attended Crosspoint Church in Bangor.
He is survived by his daughter, Brooklyn Lindberg of Millinocket; father, Carl Marquis Sr. and wife, Judith of Old Town; mother, Kim and husband, Harold Hawkes of Bangor; and his grandmother, Laura Marquis of Old Town; his sisters Patricia Marquis of Old Town and Brittany Avery of Bangor; brother, Carl Marquis Jr. of Milford; stepbrothers, Timothy Avery and Harold Hawkes Jr., both of Bangor and Michael Worcester of Old Town.
He was predeceased by his nana, Nancy Kaye and grampy, Tony Kaye of Greenbush; grandfather, William Marquis Sr. of Old Town.
Matt held a special place in his heart for his uncle Gil and aunt Paula Marquis of Old Town.
As Matt always said, "Gods got this".
A Celebration of Life gathering and service for Matthew M. Marquis, 34, who died April 20, 2020, will be conducted from 1-3 p.m. with a service at 3 p.m. Friday, July 16, 2021, at the Birmingham Funeral Home 438 Main St., Old Town. Burial will follow at the Cardville Cemetery, Greenbush. Memorial contributions may be made to the Oxford House Bangor, 1209 Union Street, Bangor, ME 04401.
